Canvassing pins and territories
Pin every door you knock, planned stop or not. Your whole team sees the pins, so everyone can see which doors already said no.
Pins live on the Map. Open it from the Accounts tab (tap Map), from More, or from the menu on a computer. Your accounts, your leads and the team's pins all show there.
Drop a pin
- Tap Drop a pin on the map. The pin starts at your location if LASSO has it, or at the center of the map.
- Drag the pin onto the door, then tap Place pin.
- Under What happened, tap one of the eight outcomes (listed below).
- Optionally, add a Place or business name, a Note and a Photo.
- Tick Make it a lead or Also add to stops if you want those too.
- Tap Save pin.
Faster ways to drop one: on a phone, press and hold a spot on the map. On a computer, right-click it. LASSO fills in the street address from the map position when it can.
The eight outcomes
| Outcome | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Talked | You spoke with someone. |
| Not in | Nobody you needed was there. |
| Left card | You left a card or a leave-behind. |
| Not interested | They said no. |
| Come back | You need to return at a set time. LASSO asks when. |
| No soliciting | The door is posted. Your team will see it. |
| Already a customer | They already work with your company. |
| Other | Anything else. Add a note. |
Each outcome has its own color on the map, and the legend is under the map.
Knock a whole street
- On the stop list, tap Knock this street on a stop. The map opens at street level with the stop marked.
- Tap each door on the map. A quick sheet opens with your last outcome ready.
- Tap the outcome to save it. That is two taps per door. Tap Add a name, note or photo if you need more.
- Tap Done to go back to the stop list.
A pin within about 60 meters of the stop links to that stop's account or lead and logs a visit on it.
Set a come-back and finish it
- Pick Come back as the outcome and set Come back on to the date and time.
- LASSO makes a follow-up. It shows on Today and on your call list, and it can become your next best action when it is due within the hour and you are close by.
- You get an alert 15 to 30 minutes before, if Follow-ups due alerts are on.
- When you go back, tap Mark done on the pin (or Done on the call list). Pick what happened this time, add a note, and tap Save.
Turn a door into a lead
- Tick Make it a lead when you save the pin, or tap the pin and choose Make it a lead.
- The lead is named after the place, or the address if there is no name, with the source "Canvass." The pin's note goes into the lead.
- Add to stops on a pin puts it on today's list. A pin with no lead becomes a lead first.
If your company shares leads and a teammate already has that business, LASSO says Someone has this one. You can Take it over once it is at least 7 days old and nobody has touched it yet, or Reopen it under me if it was closed.
Filter and edit pins
- Above the map, pick Everyone or Mine, then Today, 7 days, 30 days or All, and one outcome or Every outcome. LASSO remembers your choice on that device.
- Tap a pin to see who dropped it, when, the outcome, the note and the photo, with Navigate.
- Everyone at your company sees the company's pins. You can edit your own; managers can edit any.
- The last 90 days of pins also show, faded, on the stop list map and the Find leads map.
Territories
A territory is a shape on the map, assigned to a rep. Tap Territories above the map to show or hide them. Tap a territory's label to see its numbers: the rep, doors knocked in 30 days, how often someone talked, leads made from pins, open leads and accounts inside, and when it was last knocked.
A pin or lead inside another rep's territory says so, for example "In Dana's territory."
Draw a territory (managers)
- On the Map, tap Draw territory.
- Tap the map to add corners. You need at least 3. Undo removes the last one.
- Tap Finish.
- Give it a Name, pick a Color, choose the Assigned rep (or leave it Unassigned), and tap Save territory.
To change one, tap its label, then Edit shape (drag a corner to move it, tap a corner to remove it, tap a small dot between corners to add one, then Save shape) or Rename or reassign. Archive takes it off the map and keeps its history. Territories are never deleted.
