LASSO

Security

Security and privacy, in plain words.

How LASSO signs people in, keeps companies apart, handles email, location, files and AI, where it runs, and what we have not built yet.

Signing in.

  • Passwords are stored only as salted hashes (PBKDF2 with SHA-256, 100,000 rounds), never in plain text. At least 10 characters, and a short list of common passwords is refused.
  • Invite links last 7 days and reset links last 1 hour. Each works once, and only a fingerprint of the link is stored.
  • Setting a new password signs you out of every other device.
  • A sign-in lasts 30 days on that device. The sign-in cookie cannot be read by scripts on the page and only travels over https. Only a hash of it is stored.
  • A wrong email and a wrong password get the same message, so nobody can test which emails have accounts.
  • Requests that change data must come from the LASSO app, which blocks forms posted from other sites.
  • Every page is forced to https, and browsers are told to use https only for a year.

Your company

Your own address, your own logins, your records kept apart.

Your own address

Each company has its own LASSO address, like yourcompany.lassoreps.com. A login works only at its own company's address. Someone from another company who tries to sign in at yours gets the same "email or password is not right" message as a wrong password.

Kept apart in every request

Every record carries your company's tag, and every request LASSO answers filters on it. That is how one company's people never see another company's records.

Who at WebPro360 can see it

WebPro360 builds and runs LASSO. Our staff can sign in to any company's LASSO and see its data, to set it up, support it and run the service.

Email: who, the subject and when. Never the body.

When a rep connects Outlook or Google (both Rolling out), LASSO looks at mail to and from your known contacts and leads and logs who, the subject and when, on the right record. It never reads or stores a message body. Mail between coworkers is skipped.

Microsoft's permission LASSO asks for does not include message bodies. Google's Gmail permission technically allows reading mail, so LASSO asks Gmail only for the From, To, Cc, Subject and Date lines.

Email a rep sends from LASSO goes out through their own mailbox. LASSO keeps the subject and a line like "Emailed Dana", not the body.

Location

Location sharing is the rep's choice.

The rules are built into LASSO, and a manager cannot switch sharing on for a rep.

Off until the rep turns it on. The rep picks the hours, and a banner shows the whole time it is on. Nothing is recorded while it is off or outside those hours. Managers see positions only for reps who share. Points are deleted after 90 days.

  • While sharing is off or outside the hours, the phone does not send, and LASSO drops anything that arrives anyway.
  • When a rep turns sharing off, managers stop seeing their trails. Stored points stay until their 90 days are up.
  • In the browser, LASSO records only while the app is open. Recording with the screen off comes with the Android and iPhone apps, which are in testing.
  • Near me now and "where I am" in the lead finder use the phone's position only when the rep asks.

What managers see

AI

What goes to AI, and what the rep sees first.

Anything AI would add or change in your records is shown to the rep as a draft. Nothing is saved until the rep confirms.

WhatWhere it is processedBefore it is saved
Business card photosAnthropic's API (Claude)The rep checks every field, then saves
Voice recordingsTranscribed on Cloudflare Workers AI. The audio does not go to Anthropic. The recording is kept with the note

Where it runs, and what is kept.

LASSO runs on Cloudflare: the app, the database, file storage, voice transcription and LASSO's own system email.

Business card photos, voice recordings and pin photos are stored in Cloudflare's file storage under your company's folder, and served only to signed-in people at your company. They are not deleted on a timer.

  • Location points: deleted after 90 days
  • Webhook delivery logs: deleted after 30 days
  • Deleted accounts: 30 days in the trash, with Restore
  • Card photos, voice recordings and pin photos: kept until you ask us to delete them (deleting a record does not delete its files today)
  • Everything else: kept until someone deletes it
  • People who leave are turned off, not deleted, so their history stays with your accounts

Questions

What security reviews ask.

Does each company get its own database?

No. All companies run on the same LASSO service. Every record is tagged with its company and every request filters on that tag, so one company never sees another's records.

Can WebPro360 see our data?

Yes. WebPro360 builds and runs LASSO, and our staff can see a company's data to set it up, support it and run the service.

Does LASSO read our email?

Only the headers of mail to and from your known contacts and leads: who, the subject and when. Never the body. This applies once Outlook or Google is connected, which is rolling out.

Is our data used to train AI?

LASSO sends card photos and text to Anthropic's API to do the job in front of the rep, and voice audio is transcribed on Cloudflare. Read Anthropic's own terms for how its API handles data; LASSO does not train any model on your records.

Do you support two-factor or SSO?

Not yet. Both are on the roadmap. Today sign-in uses hashed passwords, one-time links and rate limits.

How do we get our data back if we leave?

Each rep can export their own records as CSV and .xlsx. A one-click company-wide export is not built yet; talk to us about what you need.
