Who decides
The people you need to reach at schools and daycares.
Ask for them in this order. LASSO keeps each one as a contact on the account, with notes and the next step.
- 1
Facilities or operations director
School districts and colleges usually have a director who plans maintenance, summer projects and the budget. Expect a bid or approved vendor process, and ask early how to get on the vendor list.
- 2
Head of school or business manager
At private and charter schools, the head of school or business manager often signs service contracts directly. Visit during school hours but away from drop-off and pickup, and ask the front office for a time to meet.
- 3
Daycare owner or director
Daycare owners care about comfort, safety and anything that could come up on a licensing visit. The director is usually on site all day, and a short stop during the quiet midday hours is often easiest.
What LASSO finds
The reasons a building is worth a stop.
LASSO scores each school from its listing, website and reviews. Every reason says whether it was measured or is only a sign.
- measuredBuilding size. Square feet from the school's website, or from county records once they're loaded for your states.
- measuredBuilding project. A new building, addition, renovation or expansion mentioned on the website, listing or a recent review.
- measuredMaintenance hiring. A maintenance job posting found by the weekly job watch near your area.
- measuredParent complaints. Reviews that mention heat, air conditioning, leaks, mold or broken equipment.
- measuredSeveral campuses. One school or daycare operator behind several locations in your search, matched by a shared website.
- a signOlder website. A website footer that's years out of date or a very old domain hints at an older building and counts only as a sign.
Working these buildings
How reps get from the front desk to a proposal.
- 1
Work the school calendar
Big maintenance and replacement work at schools tends to happen over summer and breaks, and it's planned well ahead. Visit in the fall and winter so you're on the list before the summer work is decided.
- 2
Avoid drop-off and pickup
Front offices are swamped at the start and end of the school day. Mid-morning is usually calmer; sign in, ask who handles facilities, and leave a card.
- 3
Leave a way to book
Facilities staff are rarely in the front office when you stop by. A QR leave-behind lets them pick a time from your open slots, and a come-back pin keeps the visit on your call list.

Why teams pick LASSO
Most field sales apps hand your rep a map. LASSO hands them a reason to stop.
Pins and routes are the easy part. The work is knowing which buildings to visit, what to say there, and what happens after the door.
You import a list or drop pins by hand.
LASSO finds the buildings near your reps and scores every one, with the reasons.
An address and a pin color.
Review complaints quoted with the date, plus size, operator and job postings, each marked measured or a sign.
Notes typed later, if anyone remembers.
One tap for the outcome. One voice note drafts the note, the deal, the follow-up and the next stop.
Stops in the order someone added them.
Ordered by distance from the rep, kept inside business hours, closing-soon stops first.
Calls around to find out who went where.
Team Live and day trails for reps who share, plus a weekly scoreboard.
Every industry at once.
Commercial trades that sell to buildings, built alongside a mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractor.
Questions
Selling to schools and daycares: what reps ask.
Something else? Ask us and a person replies.
How do you sell facility services to schools?
Find the person who plans maintenance: a district or college facilities director, a private school's business manager, or a daycare owner. Learn their budget and bid calendar, and get on the vendor list well before summer work is planned.
Does LASSO include daycares and colleges?
Yes. The schools building type covers public, private and charter schools, colleges and universities, daycares and preschools, from Google listings anywhere in the US.
Can LASSO tell how old a school building is?
Where county property records are loaded, LASSO reads the year built and square feet; they're loaded for your states when we set up your company. Elsewhere it uses size from the school's website and counts an old website only as a sign.
Do parent reviews really help?
Sometimes. Reviews that mention a hot classroom, no air conditioning or a leak are a real reason to ask, and LASSO labels them measured. Many schools have few reviews, so size, hiring and building projects carry more of the score.
Do public schools buy from field reps?
Many public districts buy through bids or approved vendor lists, so a visit is about getting on the list and learning the calendar. Private schools, charter schools and daycares often decide more directly.
