Who decides
The people you need to reach at retail and restaurants.
Ask for them in this order. LASSO keeps each one as a contact on the account, with notes and the next step.
- 1
Owner or franchise group
Independent restaurants and stores are usually decided by the owner, and a local franchise group may run several locations from one office. Ask the manager on duty who owns the place and who handles repairs.
- 2
General or store manager
The manager runs the daily operation and knows when the walk-in cooler, the rooftop unit or the restrooms keep failing. Visit between rushes and keep it short.
- 3
Dealership general manager
At car dealerships, the general manager or the fixed operations director usually handles the building and the service drive. A weekday morning, when the showroom is quiet, is a good time to ask.
What LASSO finds
The reasons a building is worth a stop.
LASSO scores each store or restaurant from its listing, website and reviews. Every reason says whether it was measured or is only a sign.
- measuredCustomer complaints. Reviews that mention the heat, air conditioning, leaks, plumbing or broken equipment.
- measuredLocal owner, several locations. One owner behind several stores or restaurants in your search, matched by a shared website.
- measuredStore size. Square feet from the listing or website, or from county records once they're loaded for your states.
- measuredRemodel or new location. A remodel, expansion or new location mentioned on the listing, website or a recent review.
- a signBusy place. 300 or more Google reviews with no size listed suggests a busy building and counts only as a sign.
- marked downNational chain. Big-box, grocery and restaurant chains and dealer groups on the brand list are marked down because maintenance is often decided above the store.
Working these buildings
How reps get from the front desk to a proposal.
- 1
Visit between rushes
Restaurants are usually slowest mid-afternoon, between lunch and dinner, and stores are calmer on weekday mornings. Ask for the owner or manager, keep it short, and never pitch during a rush.
- 2
Find the owner behind the store
A local owner may run several stores or restaurants from one office. Ask who handles repairs, and use LASSO's operator view to see the other locations they run.
- 3
Leave a card that books a time
Owners are often off site when you stop by. A QR leave-behind on the manager's desk lets the owner pick a time from your open slots, and a voice note after the visit records who you talked to and what's next.

Why teams pick LASSO
Most field sales apps hand your rep a map. LASSO hands them a reason to stop.
Pins and routes are the easy part. The work is knowing which buildings to visit, what to say there, and what happens after the door.
You import a list or drop pins by hand.
LASSO finds the buildings near your reps and scores every one, with the reasons.
An address and a pin color.
Review complaints quoted with the date, plus size, operator and job postings, each marked measured or a sign.
Notes typed later, if anyone remembers.
One tap for the outcome. One voice note drafts the note, the deal, the follow-up and the next stop.
Stops in the order someone added them.
Ordered by distance from the rep, kept inside business hours, closing-soon stops first.
Calls around to find out who went where.
Team Live and day trails for reps who share, plus a weekly scoreboard.
Every industry at once.
Commercial trades that sell to buildings, built alongside a mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractor.
Questions
Selling to retail and restaurants: what reps ask.
Something else? Ask us and a person replies.
How do you sell service contracts to restaurants?
Find independent restaurants whose reviews mention the heat, air conditioning, leaks or plumbing, and visit mid-afternoon between lunch and dinner. Ask for the owner, keep it short, and leave a way to book a time.
Does LASSO include grocery stores and car dealerships?
Yes. Grocery and big-box retail, restaurants and fast food, and car dealerships are separate building types in the finder, from Google listings anywhere in the US.
Why are national chains scored low?
Big-box, grocery and restaurant chains and dealer groups on LASSO's brand list are marked down, since maintenance is often decided above the store. A franchised location may still be locally owned, so it stays in the results and the rep can ask.
Does LASSO show a restaurant's hours on the stop list?
Yes, for places that came from a Google listing. The stop list shows open until, opens at or closed today, and the route order puts a stop closing within two hours first.
Will LASSO score leads for pest control or janitorial?
The field app works for any trade today. Scoring profiles tuned to pest control and cleaning are in development; until yours is ready, the finder uses the building profile, which reads reviews, size and ownership.
