Location sharing and Team Live
Sharing your location is your choice, and it only runs during the hours you set. Here is how to turn it on and off, and exactly what your manager sees.
Location sharing is off for every rep until that rep turns it on. Nobody else can turn it on for you. While it is on, a banner stays at the top of LASSO so it is never a surprise.
Turn it on (reps)
- Go to More, then Settings, and find Share my location during the workday.
- Flip the switch to On.
- Set From and Until to your working hours. Change the ones filled in if they don't match your day.
- Tap Save. LASSO confirms the hours it will share.
- Allow location if your phone asks.
The status line under the switch tells you what is happening right now, for example "Sharing now while LASSO is open" or "On, but outside your hours right now."
The banner, and turning it off
While sharing is on, a bar sits under the top of the screen. Inside your hours it reads "Sharing your location until" your end time. Outside your hours it says nothing is recorded right now.
- Tap Turn off on the banner to stop sharing right away.
- Or go back to Settings, flip the switch to Off, and tap Save.
Signing out of LASSO also stops sharing on that device.
What gets recorded, and for how long
- Nothing is recorded while sharing is off or outside your hours. Your phone does not send anything then, and LASSO throws away anything that arrives anyway.
- In the browser and the home screen app, LASSO records only while it is open on your screen. The LASSO phone apps, which are In testing, will keep going with the screen off.
- Location points are kept for 90 days, then deleted.
- Your hours use the time zone on your LASSO account. If the times look off, ask your manager to have your LASSO admin at WebPro360 check your time zone.
What sharing does for you
- Arrived marks. When you drive up to a stop on today's list (within about 150 meters), the stop shows "Arrived" with the time. It never marks the stop done; your tap does that.
- Miles in Activity. A Miles driven tile and chart appear on the Activity tab.
What managers see
Managers open Team from the menu, or from More on a phone. Managers see location only for reps who turned sharing on, and only inside each rep's hours.
- Live card. A map with each sharing rep's last position, plus a list: how long ago the position came in, miles today, stops done out of stops planned, and how many stops they have arrived at. Reps who are not sharing are listed by name under "Not sharing."
- Trail. Tap Trail next to a rep to see that day: the path on a map, miles driven, the first and last time, and each stop with Arrived, Done and the door outcome. Use Earlier day and Later day to look back, up to 90 days.
- Scoreboard. The weekly scoreboard on the Team page has a Miles column.
When a rep turns sharing off, managers no longer see that rep's trails. Points already recorded stay stored until their 90 days are up. The WebPro360 team that runs LASSO can also see this data when they work on your company's LASSO.
