Who decides

The people you need to reach at senior living.

Ask for them in this order. LASSO keeps each one as a contact on the account, with notes and the next step.

  1. 1

    Executive director or administrator

The administrator answers for resident comfort, family complaints and state inspections, so heat, hot water and air conditioning problems land on their desk. Visit on a weekday morning, sign in at the front desk, and ask for a few minutes or a time to come back.

  2. 2

    Maintenance director

The maintenance director runs the building and knows what is failing, what has been put off and what the last vendor missed. Ask the front desk whether they can step out for a minute; they're often the best first conversation.

  3. 3

    Regional operator or license holder

When one company runs several communities, the contract may be signed at the regional or corporate office. LASSO shows the CMS chain for nursing homes, and the license holder once your state's list is loaded, so you know when to ask for the regional contact.

What LASSO finds

The reasons a building is worth a stop.

LASSO scores each community from its listing, website, reviews and the public lists that apply. Every reason is labeled measured or a sign.

  • measuredBeds. Certified beds from CMS for nursing homes, licensed beds from your state's list once it's loaded, or beds stated on the website.
  • measuredOperator with several buildings. How many communities the same license holder, CMS chain or website runs.
  • measuredResident and family complaints. Reviews that mention heat, air conditioning, hot water, plumbing, leaks or maintenance.
  • measuredCMS fines. A nursing home fined $50,000 or more by CMS for health or safety citations.
  • measuredMaintenance hiring. A maintenance job posting found by the weekly job watch near your area.
  • marked downNational chain. Senior living chains on LASSO's brand list are marked down because maintenance is often decided at the corporate office.

Working these buildings

How reps get from the front desk to a proposal.

  1. 1

Sign in and keep it short

Most communities ask visitors to sign in at the front desk, and staff take care of residents first. Ask for the maintenance director or the executive director by title, keep it brief, and offer to come back at a better time.

  2. 2

    Talk about resident comfort

Administrators hear about cold rooms and lukewarm showers from residents and families. Open with what reviews say, ask what they've been dealing with, and save the equipment details for the maintenance director.

  3. 3

    Follow the operator

When one company runs several communities, one contract can cover all of them. Use LASSO's operator view to see the other buildings, and put a follow-up or come-back pin on each one you visit.

Why teams pick LASSO

Most field sales apps hand your rep a map. LASSO hands them a reason to stop.

Pins and routes are the easy part. The work is knowing which buildings to visit, what to say there, and what happens after the door.

Where leads come from

You import a list or drop pins by hand.

LASSO finds the buildings near your reps and scores every one, with the reasons.

Why this building

An address and a pin color.

Review complaints quoted with the date, plus size, operator and job postings, each marked measured or a sign.

At the door

Notes typed later, if anyone remembers.

One tap for the outcome. One voice note drafts the note, the deal, the follow-up and the next stop.

The route

Stops in the order someone added them.

Ordered by distance from the rep, kept inside business hours, closing-soon stops first.

For the manager

Calls around to find out who went where.

Team Live and day trails for reps who share, plus a weekly scoreboard.

Questions

Selling to senior living: what reps ask.

Something else? Ask us and a person replies.

How do you sell to assisted living and nursing homes?

Start with the maintenance director and the executive director, and lead with resident comfort: heat, air and hot water. Find out whether the operator runs other communities, since one contract can cover several.

What does LASSO pull from CMS?

For Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing homes: certified beds, how many residents live there, the chain that runs it, who owns it, star ratings and fines. CMS records follow the state of your search area anywhere in the US.

Does LASSO have assisted living licensing data for my state?

State licensing lists, with licensed beds and the license holder, are loaded for your states when we set up your company. Google listings work for assisted living everywhere from the first day.

Why are some senior living chains scored low?

National senior living chains are marked down because maintenance is often decided at the corporate office. They stay on the list, labeled, so your rep can decide whether to ask.

Do CMS fines mean the building is in bad shape?

Not by themselves. Fines come from health and safety citations, so LASSO counts large fines as one labeled reason among several, and reps ask rather than assume.
